Is Obama's Nobel a blessing or curse?

WASHINGTON - Yes he can win the Nobel Peace Prize. Even on the same day that President Obama met with his war council yet again to consider sending up to 40,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan. President Obama speaks about his Nobel award at the White House on Friday. The confluence of events -- some might even call it irony -- was a stark reminder that this award was more about the promise of change than actual change. Peace is not at hand in Iraq or Afghanistan, and while the president has articulated a new approach to the world it will be difficult to translate that vision into some actual victories. "Even as we strive to seek a world in which conflicts are resolved peacefully and prosperity is widely shared, we have to confront the world as we know it today," Obama said in the White House Rose Garden. "I am the commander in chief of a country that's responsible for ending a war and working in another theater to confront a ruthless adversary that directly threatens the American people and our allies." Let me be clear that I don't buy into any of this silliness from some pundits about how winning such a prestigious honor could backfire on Obama. Becoming only the fourth U.S. president to ever win the Nobel can hardly be spun into a negative.

But it's important to note that the award does not create one job in the U.S. economy. It does not provide one Republican vote on Capitol Hill for the president's health care push. And the challenges are clearly not just on the domestic front. With the Norwegian Nobel committee citing the president's "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples," one top Obama adviser told me this is an affirmation of the administration's aggressive efforts to reach out across the world. But this adviser quickly acknowledged the hard work of trying to turn that dialogue into actual progress on difficult problems like forging Israeli-Palestinian peace. And I think this award puts new pressure on the president from the right and left. Conservatives like CNN contributor Ed Rollins was quick to charge the honor will only highlight the fact that the president has few achievements to point to yet. "I think certainly you have to give him an 'A' for trying," he said. "But at the end of the day, what has he accomplished?"

I think you can also see liberals like Sen. Russ Feingold, D-Wisconsin, who has been pushing Obama for a timetable to withdraw U.S. troops from Afghanistan being emboldened. Why wouldn't Feingold now say something to the effect of, "Mr. Peacemaker, why are you potentially further escalating the war in Afghanistan?" Nevertheless, this is a sweet moment for the president. What's striking to me is that exactly one week ago I was in Copenhagen, Denmark, where the president swooped in for a few hours to push Chicago's Olympic bid. Once he lost, the dramatic defeat led many -- including me -- to report that this was obviously a blow on the international stage. That's why when the news about the Nobel Peace Prize landed like a lightning bolt in the wee hours of Friday morning, White House aides were ecstatic. As I rushed to get some reaction, I finally reached Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel by telephone and he was quick with a quip. "It's clear Oslo beats Copenhagen any day of the week," Emanuel told me. He stressed that he was joking. But there was also a measure of vindication in his voice.

Late goal boosts Argentina hopes

प्रत्येक दिन बम्बेमा एक लाख मानिस सपना बोकेर आउछन्। भौतारिन्छन् र सपना छाडेर फर्किन्छन्। बम्बे रहस्यको शहर हो। एकरातमै मानिस करोडपति हुन्छ र एकरातमै रोड पति। रोडमै सुत्नेहरुले 'हप्ता' बुझाउनु पर्छ- अुनपले त्यही पुगेर थाहा पाए।

बाहन थियो- लोकल ट्रेन। आइरन गरेका सफाचट् लुगा टे्रनबाट उत्रिदा मुजा परेका सिरकका खोलजस्ता हुन्थे। त्यसकालागी पनि अनुपसंग आइडिया थियो। उनी ब्यागभित्र सानो आइरन बोकेर हिड्थे। 'शुलभ शौचालय' को ऐनामा आफूलाई नियाल्थे। लन्ड्रीमा गएर आग्रह गर्थे- 'मसित आइरन छ। म मेरो सर्टमा आइरन लगाउछु, हुन्छ?'
'लक' भनेको यहि होला, कुनै लन्ड्रीवालाले पनि नाइ भनेन। यसरी हरेक निर्देशकको अफिसमा भौतारिदा अनुपले यस्ता मानिस पनि भेटे, जो निर्देशकका अगाडी आफ्नो 'कला' देखाउन बिसौ बर्षदेखी पालो कुरिरहेका छन्। र, ति सुनाउछन्, 'म बम्बे आउदा एकदम तन्नेरी थिए। कपाल पनि चिउडोसम्म झर्थ्यौ। अव हेर्नुस्, मेरो तालुमा कपालै छैन।'
अनुपले धेरै निर्देशकलाई भेटे तर उत्तर एउटै थियो, 'ल, राम्रो काम गर्दा रैछौ। यदि तिमीलाई सुहाउने कुनै रोल भेट्टियो भने सम्पर्क गरौला।'तर, अनुपको पेजर कहिल्यै बजेन। अनुपले त्यही भेटे, यसपाल शर्मालाई। जो अहिले पनि हिन्दी फिल्ममा भिलेन बन्छन्। यसपालले नै अनुपलाई सम्झाए- यदि बम्बेमा बस्नु छ भने कम्तीमा चार बर्ष संघर्ष गर्छु भन्ने आत्मशक्ति बनाऊ। एककप चियामा दिन बिताउछु भन्ने अठोट गर।
यसपालले अर्को कुरा पनि भने- कपाल खुइलिए खुइलियोस्, म लड्छु, तिमी सोच। यदि तिमीले जित्यो भने भोली तिमीलाई नै हेरेर फिल्मको भूमीका लेखीनेछ।'कुरा त मख्खै पार्ने खालको थियो।
एकदिन अनुप अशोकाको अडिशनमा पुगे। धेरैदिनसम्म पेजर बजेन र उनले सोचे, 'म अव यता बस्दिन।' बम्बेमा त यस्ता मान्छेमात्र संघर्ष गरिरहन्छन्, जसको फर्किने कुनै ठाऊ छैन। परिवार छैन। ति संघर्ष गर्दागर्दे सडकको छेऊमा मर्छन् र मुन्सीपाटीले उठाएर लैजान्छ। तर, अनुपसित त आफ्नै देश र परिवार थियो। जसले पर्खिरहेको पनि थियो। उनी फर्किए। काठमान्डूको अटेशमटेश भिडमा थपिए। जहाँ बम्बेबाट आएको टेलिफोनले भेट्न सकेन। 'हजार मिटरको दौडमा सामेल मान्छे किन सय मिटरमा दर्गुन आ'को?' जव अनुप काठमान्डूमा देखीए, यस्ता प्रश्नले ठुग्न थाले। हुनपनि, अनुप जुन कुरामा पोख्त भएर आएका थिए, त्यो मृतप्रायः नै थियो। नेपाली रंगमन्च मर्‍यो भन्नेहरु पनि थिए। अवसर थिएनन्। आफूले अभिनय गरेको पहिलो फिल्म 'अंशबन्डा' जीवनको एउटा कालो पन्ना भइसकेको थियो। नेपाली रंगमन्चका लागी जे गर्छु, भन्ने सपना थिए, ती हिड्दाहिड्दै फुर्लुङ ढल्छन् की जस्ता हुन थाले। तिनलाई जोगाउन गाह्रो हुनथाल्यो।
अनुप अमेरिकी लाइब्रेरी चहार्न थाले। 'फ्रेन्च अलाइन्स' डिल्लीबजारको क्यान्टिनमा पोतिएका चित्रहरुमा हराउन थाले। कोही भेटिहाल्यो भने गफ गर्‍यो। यसरी अनुप आफूभित्रको निरासा पखाल्थे। ०५२ तिरको काठमान्डूमा शहरमा हुने सबै चिज थिए। डिर्पामेन्टल स्टोर। ठूल्ठूला घर। पक्कि सडक। डिस्को। डान्सबार। नाइट लाइफ। अचानक देखीन थालेका मगन्ते। फोहरले भरिदै गएको बागमती। फन्टुस फिल्म। सबै थिए। तर, अनुपलाई सपनातिर डोर्‍याउने कुनै साघुरो गल्ली पनि थिएन। 'बौद्धिक खुराक छदै थिएनन्।' अनुप कफीको चुस्की लगाउदै सम्झन्छन्। अहिले अनुपसंग आफूले चाहेका धेरै चिज छन्। उनले गरेका नाटक 'नाट्य इतिहाँस'मा दर्ता छन्। 'एक्टर्स स्टुडियो' नाट्यस्कुलको अतित पनि छ। कुनै समय फेरि ब्युझन पनि सक्छ। धापासीको शान्त फ्ल्याटभित्रको टेवुलमाथी केही फिल्मका स्त्रिप्ट पनि छन्, जसमा उनले अभिनय गर्नेछन्। सपनाको नेगेटिभमा रंग पनि भरिन थालेको छ। 'सेपिया रंगको भएको छ।' अनुप मुस्कुराउछन्। र, आश छ, कुनै दिन आँखा तिर्मिराउने गरि रंगीन पनि होला। शहरमा अव सपना हराउने डर अनुपलाई छैन। कहिलेकाही भने झस्किन्छन्, कतै आफू स्यवं शहरमा हराउने त होइन? शहरका मामलामा अनुप अहिलेपनि आफूलाई 'आउट साइडर' मान्छन्। सारा शहर सिसाभित्र छ। शहर गफ चुटिरहेको छ- क्रियाकलाप हेर्दा लाग्छ तर आवाज भने अनुपसम्म आइपुग्दैन। त्यसैले आफू शहरको मान्छे भइनसकेको ठान्छन्। शहरले कति मोडमा सम्झौतागर्न लगाउछ। अनुप सम्झौता गरिरहेका छन्। प्रोफेसनल मित्रता धेरै छन्। अनुप सोच्छन्- म अहिले जिजीबिषाजस्तो मित्रता बाचिरहको छु।
'हाम्रा पाँच इन्द्रियहरु मर्दे छन्।' काठमान्डू बसाइमा अनुप यस्तै ठान्छन्, 'हामीसित निजी स्वार्थंमा बाच्ने न्यूकिलियर जेनेरेशन छ।'कहिलेकाही आफूलाई पनि शहरले आफूजस्तो बनाउदै त छैन? अनुप झस्कन्छन्- कतै मेरो निर्दोषपन मर्दे गइरहेको त छैन? बा र आमा पोखरामा एक्लै छन्। अनुपलाई थाहा पनि छ, बुढेशकालको एकान्तले आत्मा दुखाउछ। अुनप खाना खादा अचानक झस्किन्छन् पनि, उता घरमा बृद्ध बा र आमा मौन खाना खाइरहेका होलान्। 'म त्यहा हुनुपर्ने हो।' अनुप टोलाउछन्, 'तर जान सक्दिन।' अनुपले जती गरे, सबै आफ्ना लागी गरे। उनलाई थाहा पनि छ, मैले परिवारका लागी केही गर्न सकिन। धेरै समय केही गर्न नसक्नुको मौनतामा अल्भि्कएका अनुप अव भने मौनताबाट बाहिर आएका छन्। व्यस्तताले लखेटिरहेका अनुप फुर्सद हुदा भावुक पनि हुन्छन्। अव काठमान्डू छाडेर घर पोखरा जान गाह्रो छ, र बा र आमाको सम्झनालाई पन्छाउन सजिलो पनि छैन। 'म अझै पूर्णरुपमा शहरको मान्छे भइसकेको छैन।' अनुप एकछिन टोलाउछन्, 'कति पल्ट घर जादा आमाका आसुले मलाई पोलेका छन्।'

Floods toll at 46 in West

ANKE/KAILALI: The flash floods and landslides continued taking toll in the western districts today as 12 more deaths are reported. With this, the toll has risen to 46. Six persons have still been missing while more than 25, 000 people have been rendered homeless in the nature’s fury. Three more deaths are reported from Achham villages where 17 were already perished on Tuesday. Likewise, four of a family died in Parbat and two in Kanchanpur today. One more person died in Bajhang today, adding the toll to three. Two others - one each in Doti and Jumla - also died today, the police said. Six persons — two in Kailali, one each in Dang, Rukum, Lamjung and Banke — have gone missing in after they were swept away by rivers. Durga Bahadur Bhandary, Binu Bhandary, Sima Bhandary and Dipachan Bhandary were those killed when their houses in Thapathana VDC-5, Parbat, collapsed in a landslide early morning, the local police said. The three fresh deaths were reported from Achham’s Marku VDC-7 on Wednesday, CDO Gyan Prasad Dhakal said. More than 150 families have been displaced in the district.

The swollen Karnali River has surrounded around 500 residents of Kailali’s Dhanasinghapur and Narayanpur areas. Family members of some 100 households have been marooned. PM’s detour from everyday politics

Kathmandu - Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal seems to have developed a penchant for doing things out of the box, especially ever since his successful endeavour last month to save a haemorrhaging rural woman, for which he earned accolades aplenty. He squeezed out time from his hectic political schedule to visit the victims of the April uprising two days ago and, on Wednesday, Prime Minister Nepal set out on a brief excursion of the Capital city to learn about people’s lives and sufferings. Prime Minister Nepal and his incumbent team boarded a tourist bus (Ba. 1 Pa. 45), leaving a bevy of journalists, who were present at the Prime Minister’s Office to cover the Cabinet meeting flabbergasted as none had the slightest clue what the Prime Minister and Co. were up to.

“The prime minister wanted to take stock of the problems the Valley denizens are facing. So, the best way was to take a tour,” said the prime minister’s political adviser Bishnu Rijal. Accompanying Prime Minister Nepal were Deputy Prime Minster and Minister for Physical Planning and Works Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, Home Minister Bhim Rawal, Local Development Minister Purna Kumar Sherma and Labour and Transport Minister Md. Aftab Alam. The concerned secretaries, chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Chief and Valley Chief of Nepal Police were also on board. The round trip began from Singha Durbar via Thapathali, Kalimati, Kalanki, Sita Paila, Swoyambhu, Maharajgunj, Lazimpat and Tundikhel.

But that which had started with all smiles did not sum up all too well. A pile of garbage greeted the prime minister at Swoyambhu. पिसाब गर्दा ज्यान गयो

Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said an investigation has been launched into the security officials who allowed the bomber, who was wearing a uniform of the paramilitary Frontier Corps, to enter the WFP offices.The attack came as Britain's defence and home ministers visited Islamabad for talks with Pakistani officials on the role Pakistan plays in combating terror.

Australia retain Champions Trophy

Australia 206-4 (45.2 overs) beat New Zealand 200-9 (50 overs) by six wickets

Shane Watson's second successive century ensured Australia held on to the Champions Trophy with a six-wicket win over New Zealand at Centurion Park.

Watson, aided by Cameron White (62), rebuilt Australia's innings from 6-2 to take them past their target of 201.

White fell to Kyle Mills (3-27) but Watson hit two sixes in a row to end the match and finish unbeaten on 105.

Earlier, spinner Nathan Hauritz (3-37) helped restrict New Zealand to 200-9, with Martin Guptill (40) top-scoring.

Although a fiery opening new-ball spell from Mills and Shane Bond had given the Black Caps fresh impetus with two quick wickets inside three overs, Watson and White batted with intelligence and composure to ensure the world champions leave South Africa as the world's best one-day side in the world.

Bond removed opener Tim Paine, caught at first slip by Ross Taylor in the second over, before Mills snared the key wicket of tournament top scorer Ricky Ponting, trapped lbw in the following over.

Bereft of scoring opportunities, Australia managed just 18 from the 10-over mandatory powerplay, the lowest total in the entire two-week tournament, surpassing New Zealand's modest 22 a few hours earlier.

However, fresh from an unbeaten 136 against England on Friday, Watson greeted the arrival of New Zealand's second-string seam attack with disdain, dispatching anything short and wide for four.

Although White succumbed to Mills - the second of his three dismissals - for 62, Watson continued his sensational form, smashing two successive sixes off Jeetan Patel to bring up his fourth one-day hundred as well guide Australia to victory with 28 deliveries to spare.

Neither Aaron Redmond or new batsman Guptill could penetrate the vice-like grip as New Zealand limped to 22-1 at the 10-over powerplay.

The run-famine relented with the introduction of second-change bowlers Mitchell Johnson and Watson, with Guptill in particular punishing anything full and outside off stump.

But with New Zealand slowly wresting the momentum in their favour, Redmond recklessly conceded his wicket charging a wide Hauritz delivery in the 19th over, with Paine whipping off the bails in an instant.

The off-spinner landed his second wicket when Guptill returned a simple catch in the 23rd over, ending his promising innings of 40, before Taylor was brilliantly caught by Mike Hussey at backward point off Johnson in the following over to leave New Zealand teetering at 81-4.

Consolidation arrived in the form of Neil Broom and James Franklin, with the pair compiling a patient 65-run stand in 14 overs.

But just after taking the batting powerplay in the 39th over, calamitous running saw Broom gift his wicket to Australia for 37 shortly after a series of confident boundaries.

Franklin departed for 33 in the 41st over as Lee speared a vicious yorker at the left-hander's toe from around the wicket, uprooting the off stump in the process.

Ian Butler became Hauritz's third wicket, trapped lbw, before Patel and Bond took the Black Caps beyond the 200-run mark with a boundary from the final ball of the innings.

Brendon McCullum dropped Cameron White on 14

But despite their electric start with the ball, Kiwi skipper McCullum was left to lament a dropped catch when White was on 14.

The Victoria captain top-edged an attempted pull of Ian Butler high in the air, but the wicketkeeper failed to cling on to a tough chance running backwards towards fine leg.

New Zealand's support seamers could not find the same disciplined lines as Mills and Bond, with Watson, in particular, capitalising as Butler and Franklin dropped short, while off-spinner Patel was lofted with a slog-swept six over mid-wicket.

The Queenslander brought up his 10th one-day 50 from 74 deliveries in the 26th over, although he was fortunate to survive a very confident appeal for leg before against Franklin soon after.

Samoans commemorate tsunami dead

People in Samoa and neighbouring Pacific islands have packed churches and community halls to remember those killed in last week's tsunami.

The BBC's Phil Mercer, in the capital Apia, says the services are a vital part of the islands' healing process. However, he says it remains to be seen whether displaced residents will want to return to low-lying areas. More than 170 people died when the tsunami - triggered by an earthquake - hit Samoa, American Samoa and Tonga. At the Congregational Christian Church of Lalomanu, representatives of 10 families mourned 52 lost relatives.

Samoans survey aftermath

In the Immaculate Conception of Mary Cathedral in Apia, Monsignor Ioane Vito urged the congregation to unite to overcome the disaster. "Don't dwell on it but rebuild our lives together as a community," he said. Government minister Fiana Naomi said on Saturday that she expected about half of Samoa's victims to be buried in mass graves of up to 20 in a new cemetery in Apia.

A memorial service would be held in a nearby sports stadium prior to the burials, she added.The tsunami struck following an 8.3-magnitude earthquake at 1748 GMT on Tuesday some 190km (120 miles) from Apia.

Villages were destroyed, homes flattened and cars lodged in treetops. Our correspondent says Samoans have reacted swiftly to the disaster and many have begun rebuilding their homes, but others have remained on high ground, afraid to return to the coast.

Australia has sent medical and search personnel to Samoa, and a New Zealand plane arrived on Saturday. The earthquake and resulting tsunami left 135 dead and eight missing in Samoa, 32 dead in American Samoa and nine dead in Tonga.

संसारको सबभन्दा ठूलो लोकतन्त्र भारतमा फिल्ममाथि कुनै पार्टी वा समूहले यसअघि पनि पटकपटक प्रतिबन्ध र रोक लगाउँदै आएका छन्। सरकारी सेन्सरबाट पास भएपछि हालैका दिनमा कुनाल कोहलीको फिल्म 'फना' गुजरातमा, प्रकाश झाको फिल्म 'गंगाजल' बिहारमा र राहुल रवैलको फिल्म 'जो बोले सो निहाल'लाई पञ्जाबमा राजनीतिक संगठनले प्रदर्शन गर्न रोकेका थिए। 'सिंह इज किंग' र 'लव आज कल'का केही दृश्यमा सिख समुदायका नेताले आपत्ती प्रकट गरेपछि फिल्मका केही दृश्य हटाइएका थिए।आयन मुखर्जीले निर्देशन गरेको 'वेक अप सिड'मा रणवीर कुपर, कोनकोना सेन शर्मा, अनुपम खेरलगायतले अभिनय गरेका छन्।

डेरा नपाएर हैरान गुरूकुल

काठमाडौं- अग्रज कलाकारबाट टीका थाप्न यसपालि पनि पूर्णिमाका दिन गुरुकुलमा रंगकर्मी, साहित्यकार र कलाकारको जमघट भयो। कलाकर्मीबीच नियमित भेटघाट र सिर्जनात्मक कार्यक्रम हुने यो माहौलले कहिलेसम्म निरन्तरता पाउने हो ? गुरुकुल छिट्टै ठाउँ सर्नुपर्ने भएको छ जसका लागि जग्गा फेला पर्न सकेको छैन। विराटनगरमा अर्को साता हुने 'आरोहण नाटक महोत्सव'को तयारी गर्न आइतबार बिहानै 'गुरूकुलका गुरू' सुनिल पोखरेल बस चढ्दैछन्। उनीसँग नाटकका सामानको भारी हुनेछ। १२ घन्टा लामो यात्रा अवधिभर उनलाई तिहारपछि गुरुकुललाई कसरी अगाडि बढाउने भन्ने चिन्ताको भारीले बढी सताउने निश्चित छ। संस्कृतिमन्त्री मीनेन्द्र रिजालले जग्गा मिलाइदिने आश्वासन दिएका छन्। विगतमा नाटक खेलेका व्यक्ति हुनाले उनलाई मन्त्रीप्रति आशा छ। जग्गाको निर्णय नदिएसम्म दसैं मनाउदिन भन्ने मन्त्रीको भाका नाघिसके पनि पोखरेलले अझै आशा मारिसकेका छैनन्। 'हामीले गरिरहेको काम राम्रो हो भने हाम्रो समस्या बुझिदिनुपर्छ,' पोखरेलले शनिबार नागरिकसँग भने, ' हामीले खासै राम्रो काम गरिरहेका छैनौं भन्ने लाग्छ भने पनि कुनै आपत्ति छैन।'

मैतीदेवीको सेतोपुल कटेपछि उत्तरपट्टि ढिस्कोमा आरोहण नाट्य संस्थाले सात वर्षदेखि गुरुकुल सञ्चालन गर्दै आएको छ। त्यहाँ दुई नाटक हल र कलाकारको होस्टल छन्। पोखरेलका अनुसार गुरुकुलसँग अहिले लगभग तीन करोड मूल्य बराबरका नाट्यसामग्री छ। उनले धेरै जनालाई भनिसकेका छन्, 'गुरुकुलले जग्गा पाएन भने यी सबै सामग्री टुँडिखेलमा जलाएर विदेश जान्छु।' उनी काठमाडौंमात्र होइन विराटनगरमा बन्दै गरेको गुरुकुलको शाखालाई समेत बन्द गर्ने सुरमा छन्। केही समयअघि भने उनी विराटनगरलाई आधार बनाएर गुरुकुलको काम गर्ने निष्कर्षमा पुगिसकेका थिए। पछि उनलाई लाग्यो, 'नाटकको आगो बाल्ने हो भने केन्द्रबाटै बालिनुपर्छ।' त्यसैले काम गर्न पाए काठमाडौंमै गर्ने नत्र विदेशिने सोच उनमा पलाएको छ। उनलाई दिल्लीको नेसनल स्कुल अफ ड्रामाले धेरै वर्षदेखि अतिथि प्राध्यापकको काम गर्ने निम्तो दिँदैआएको छ। उनी भन्छन्, 'हामी प्रोफेसनल मान्छे, जता पनि बिक्छौं।'

पछिल्लो चार वर्षको भाडासम्झौता नलम्बिने भएपछि गुरुकुलले नयाँ ठाउँ खोज्नुपरेको हो। 'अहिले हामी बसेको जग्गा जसको हो, उहाँहरूले आफ्नो योजना बनाउनुभएको छ, उहाँहरूले नचाहेपछि हामी बस्न मिल्दैन,' उनले भने, 'हामीले गुनासो होइन बरु सात वर्ष बस्न दिएकोमा आभारी हुनुपर्छ।' दसैंसम्ममा ठाउँ छाड्नुपर्ने भएपछि उनले रिङरोडभित्र धेरै ठाउँमा जग्गा भाडामा खोजे। काठमाडौंको महँगो जग्गा ठूलो परिमाणमा किन्न सजिलो पनि छैन। 'गुरुकुलमा आवद्ध हामी सबै निम्न मध्यमवर्गका हौं, हामीसँग भएका सबै घरखेत बेचेर पनि जग्गा किन्न सकिँदैन,' उनले भने, 'काठमाडौंको जग्गा कति महँगो भएछ, यो अवधिमा थाहा पायौं।' सरकारले जग्गा दिए गुरुकुललाई सहकारी वा ट्रस्टको रूपमा लैजान समेत उनी तयार छन्। धेरैले गुरुकुल भन्नेबित्तिकै आफ्नो अनुहार सम्भि्कने गरेकाले उनलाई अप्ठ्यारो परेको छ। भन्छन्, 'अहिले पनि गुरुकुललाई आरोहणले चलाइरहेको छ र भोलि मपछि अरू जो पनि यसमा आएर काम गर्न सक्छन्।'सरकारसँग जग्गा कुन आधारमा माग्छौ भनेर कसैले सोध्यो भने उनीसँग जवाफ छ, 'रंगकर्ममा २५/३० वर्षदेखि नियमित काम गरिरहेको छु।' उनी आफ्नो कामलाई उत्पादक वा अनुत्पादक के हो भनेर चाहिँ भन्न चाहन्नन्, 'यो अरूले मूल्यांकन गर्ने हो।' अनि गुरुकुलबिनाको नेपाली रंगकर्म कस्तो हुन्छ? यसको जवाफ पनि उनी दिँदैनन्। बरु भन्छन्, 'गुरुकुल वा म र मेरो टोली रंगमञ्चमा रहेन भने ठूलो क्षति हुनेछ भन्ने भ्रम मैले पालेको छैन।'
